It’s A Self-Care Kinda Day

I’ve been feeling really emotional these days. I’ve felt lonely as well. When you’ve been alone for many years, got used to the comfort of being around friends for a long time, then being alone again really messes with your mood.

Instead of focusing on the negatives, I wanted to conserve my energy towards something productive. I also wanted to experience things I’ve enjoyed on my own.

Today, I went to Propaganda Coffee that is located in Lakewood, Ohio. It’s a vegan and gluten-free coffee shop! Inside, the vibe is very minimalist, simplistic, yet elegant. I ordered Maple Hazelnut Chai Latte. It was nice to treat myself to a delicious beverage!

Next, I went to Seoul Garden, a lovely Korean Restaurant. For appetizers, I ordered 12 pieces of Tteokbokki, which is described as a steamed rice cake stir fried with an assortment of vegetables in hot and spicy sauce. The sauce starts off sweet then hits with you the spicy! The rice cake is very chewy. It gives you a great balance! As a meal, I ordered Tonkatsu, a deep fried pork cutlet with katsu sauce and Seoul salad. The sauce reminded me of barbecue sauce in a way that it is also sweet. The meal was very flavorful! I also loved the sweet and tangy sauce that the salad came with!

Finally, I went to the mall! I browsed books but didn’t buy anything. It gave me ideas on what to borrow from the library next! I know that you can’t buy love. Instead, you can buy things that you can enjoy! It was a nice reminder to take care of my heart. I did this as a video as well, in case you wanted to check it out!

Places To Stop By in Columbus, Ohio

Wow, time really flew by! My first trip of 2023 is to Columbus, Ohio! Personally, I think Columbus has one of the cutest coffee shops and places to visit!

While driving around Downtown Columbus, there were a lot of wall art. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stop and take a picture. It was already 9 A.M. by the time I got to Columbus. So much to do, so little time!

My first stop was to Parable Coffee! When you walk in, it has such a beautiful and earthy vibe! There were so many people standing in line, sitting down, enjoying a cup of coffee and either talking to their friends or they were working on something. It’s a nice place to get some work done. The atmosphere was spacious. It might look small but that’s because there were a lot of people sitting down!

They currently have special winter drinks! That’s one of the reasons why I decided to come. Plus, their drink names are so cute! I ordered, If You Give A Grinch A Chai. It’s a Masala chai version of their Cookie Butter Latte with a new level of spice! It was a hot drink and it was heavenly. The spices were very fragrant yet creamy. It’s my favorite drink now! I’ve never had a drink quite like this one! Masala chai is a milky, sweet, spice-filled black tea that originated in India.

Next, I stopped at Easton Town Center! It’s a huge shopping mall! It reminded me of Crocker park! It had stores such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Hot Topic, Gucci, and Tiffany and Co. Some of the stores had some nice deals! I ended purchasing a jacket, a T-shirt, and some enamel pins!

I wanted a quick dessert so I went to Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. I got the trio, Boozy Eggnog, Mexican Hot Chocolate, and Pumpkin Cake Roll.

The final stop was Min-Ga Korean restaurant. When you walk in, you’d think it was a small space. There’s actually a hallway to go to another room. I was surprised by the amount of people dining in! I ordered the Octopus Somyun, which is a spicy stir-fried octopus and vegetables in spicy sauce with noodles on the side. It might not seem spicy at first but the spice will hit you seconds later! The texture of the octopus is thick and chewy but it’s really good!

I was only able to visit Columbus on Monday but I’m really glad I went! Columbus has a lot of nice places to visit! Can’t wait to explore more of what Columbus has to offer!
